The Department of Medicine, Division of Cardiovascular Medicine at Stanford University, is seeking a highly motivated Bioinformatics Engineer to join the Bioinformatics Core (BIC) of the Molecular Transducers of Physical Activity Consortium (MoTrPAC). MoTrPAC is part of the Common Fund Data Ecosystem (CFDE) and aims to build a comprehensive molecular map of physical activity. The BIC is... responsible for managing, analyzing, and disseminating large volumes of molecular and clinical data generated by the consortium through the Google Cloud Platform. As a Bioinformatics Engineer, you will play a key role in developing pipelines and tools for the analysis and integration of multiomics datasets and enabling analytical insights. The Common Fund Data Ecosystem (CFDE) is a collaborative effort by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to establish a shared infrastructure that supports the efficient and effective management, analysis, and dissemination of biomedical research data. The CFDE aims to harmonize data management practices and facilitate data sharing across the scientific community, enabling researchers to work with large, complex datasets and extract new insights. As part of the MoTrPAC consortium, the Bioinformatics Core (BIC) is contributing to the CFDE by developing cutting-edge infrastructure to manage and analyze large volumes of molecular and clinical data generated by the consortium. The BIC's work will help advance the CFDE's mission of promoting data-driven research and accelerating scientific discoveries. As a Bioinformatics Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work within this ecosystem and contribute to the development of innovative solutions that facilitate data sharing and promote scientific collaboration. We are seeking a highly motivated bioinformatician to join as a Research Assistant Professor in the Institute on the Biology of Aging and Metabolism (iBAM) and the Department of Genetics, Cell Biology, and Development at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. Aging is a natural process throughout an entire life course. Focusing on health and well-being, in iBAM we study the multiple facets of... this process from many angles. This allows us to share insights in understanding how the 12 hallmarks of aging affect us and how to manipulate the pathways involved to allow for more healthy aging. Being a successful candidate, you will have multiple responsibilities. First, you will lead a new research project that is funded within the scope of our research area of interesting, perform data processing and analysis with a focus on single-cell transcriptomics, and write manuscripts. You will participate in multiple collaborative NIH Research or Program Projects in collaboration with wet-lab researchers in the field of aging research with different research expertise, e.g., genetics, molecular biology, cell biology, immunology, and development. Senior Bioinformatics Analyst/Bioinformatics Analyst
St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is looking for a highly motivated Senior Bioinformatics Analyst/Bioinformatic Analyst to contribute to genetic research projects in the Department of Epidemiology and Cancer Control. Our research leverages comprehensive biomedical data from childhood cancer survivors participating in two world-leading cohort studies, CCSS (https://ccss.stjude.org/ ) and... SJLIFE (https://sjlife.stjude.org/ ), to identify novel genetic determinants of childhood-cancer-treatment-related outcomes using advanced data-science methods. One of our ongoing research theme is on rare variant/haplotype analysis (Wang et al. Cancer Res 2023; Letsou et al. Life Sci Alliance 2023), aiming to apply to the CCSS/SJLIFE data. As a Bioinformatics Analyst, you will work under the supervision of a Lead Bioinformatics Scientist on various genetic analyses such as GWAS, rare variant/haplotype analysis, polygenic risk score, and epistatic analysis. You will also assist in evaluating new genetic computational methods, acquiring data from public databases (e.g., UK Biobank, TOPMED, dbGaP, GEO, gnomAD, GTEx), and sharing the analytic workflow and resources with the department and the research community. The ideal candidate should demonstrate good data analytic skills and be familiar with Shell scripting languages as well as high-performance cluster computing environment (HPC). Good understanding of genetics and molecular biology is preferred, but it is not required. In this position, you will have opportunities to advance computation skills in analyzing extensive genomic data using HPC and cloud environments, gain knowledge of pediatric cancer, its treatment, and contribution of germline genetics to the late effects of cancer therapy, and have co-authorship in scientific publications of all projects you contribute to. Scientist - Bioinformatics
We are looking for an enthusiastic Bioinformatics Scientist to work in close collaboration with scientists from diverse fields and who can lead independent scientific projects. You will develop and maintain innovative bioinformatics methods and computational pipelines running on high-performance computing platforms that help the Regeneron Genetics Medicines group create next generation therapies... using gene editing and gene insertion. Your role will involve working on innovative technologies like Adeno-associated viruses, CRISPR-Cas9, deep mutational scanning, and using machine learning methods to treat of cure disease. Working in the Molecular Profiling and Data Science department will also give you the opportunity to participate in collaborations in many facets of research and development, ranging from machine learning and inference of statistical models for genotype-phenotype assay data through to the assessment of therapeutic antibodies and other biologics that drive Regeneron’s therapeutics.
